Nuvali, a new eco-friendly neighbourhood in the Philippines, hopes to become a model for innovative homebuilding development in Asia.

Built on a former sugar plantation, the development integrated cutting-edge amenities such as bike-share system and electric buses that transport residents and workers in an efficient and eco-friendly way.

Jun Bisnar, Senior Vice President and General Manager at Nuvali, revealed that their aim was to create an “eco-city development that will be a model sustainable city in the country, probably Asia and the world.”

50 percent of the development will remain open land and include public facilities such as hiking trails and bird sanctuaries. Moreover, the new homes constructed at the site feature simple eco measures such as open, cross ventilating windows, while developers encourage the use of amenities such as solar power and rainwater tanks.
