The government will build a new integrated development offering a range of facilities catering to the diverse needs of residents in Woodlands, announced National Development Minister Khaw Boon Wan.

The project, a first-of its-kind in Singapore, will comprise two studio apartment blocks with a senior activity centre, shops, hawker stalls, a childcare centre and healthcare amenities.

The residential component will feature 100 units, designed especially for the elderly who will enjoy the convenience of shopping, dining and other services at their doorstep.

To be located next to Admiralty MRT station, construction work on the project is set to begin next year and is expected to be completed in three years.

The Housing and Development Board (HDB) and Ministry of Health (MOH), in partnership with Alexandra Health System, National Environment Agency, Early Childhood Development Agency and Ministry of Social and Family Development, are involved in the project.
