The City for All Ages project, which aims to make housing estates more liveable for Singapore's golden generation, has been extended to seven more constituencies, media reports said.

Among them, Choa Chu Kang was the first to get an allocation of S$80,000 under the scheme. The government held a health screening for 200 elderly residents to mark the beginning of the initiative in the area. Each was charged only S$2.

Other constituencies that will benefit from the programme are Siglap, Queenstown, Bukit Panjang, Hong Kah North, Tanglin-Cairnhill and Tampines Central.

Launched in 2011, the scheme is expected to be extended throughout the whole country, said Amy Khor, Minister of State for Health and Manpower, who is heading the City for All Ages project.
