The HDB has launched a bumper supply of 8,000 flats for sale under the Build-to-Order (BTO) and Sale of Balance Flats (SBF) exercise which will meet the three new housing measures to help first-timers, second-timers, divorcees, and the elderly.

Under the BTO exercise, 4,900 flats were released across eight projects in five non-mature towns: Choa Chu Kang, Hougang, Jurong West, Sembawang and Woodlands.

At least 85 percent of the four- to five-room units and 70 percent of the two- to three-room units will be set aside for first-time buyers – of which applicants of the Parenthood Priority Scheme (PPS) will get 30 percent priority.

For the remaining 30 percent set aside for second-timers, five percent of the two- and three-bedroom flats will be set aside for divorcees or widows with children under 16.

Parents and married children can also apply jointly under the Multi-Generation Priority Scheme at the EastBrook@Canberra (pictured) and Spring Haven@Jurong projects.

At the same time, 50 percent of the studio apartments at Golden Mint will be set aside for senior citizens applying under the Studio Apartment Priority Scheme.

Meanwhile, the SBF exercise will offer 3,100 flats in 11 non-mature and 15 mature towns/estates, comprising 602 studio apartments, 219 two-room, 396 three-room, 1,381 four-room, 478 five-room and 24 executive flats.

Of these, at least 95 percent (excluding studios) will be allocated for first-timers, with PPS applicants and the elderly each receiving 50 percent priority.

Applications will close on June 5 and applicants are allowed to apply for only one flat type/category in one town under either the BTO or SBF exercise.

The next BTO launch in July will see 3,800 flats launched for sale in Bukit Merah, Sengkang and Yishun.
