HOW far would you go to get a pay rise? A real estate agency has offered its employees fatter pay if they get inked with the companys logo, and the offer is snowballing.
In a quick, if not painless way, to make money, New York agency Rapid Realty has offered its 800 employees a 15 per cent pay rise in exchange for a permanent show of company loyalty, and the offer is snowballing, according to CBS New York.
So far, nearly 40 employees accepted the challenge.
Company owner Anthony Lolli said the tattoos weren't his idea but were a brainstorm after a loyal employee did it voluntarily, in an apparent show of team spirit.
Promising to boost his pay, he threw open the offer to other workers.
"He calls me up, he says 'Hey Anthony, I’m getting the logo on me'," Mr Lolli told CBS.
"I show up at the shop and I'm like 'this is cool, how can I repay you?'."
Mr Lolli said the employees who have gotten inked "get a lot of respect from the other agents with the amount of commitment that they have".
The company owner pays for the tattoos, which can cost up to $300. Mr Lolli said he hasn’t gotten inked yet, but plans to eventually.
The 15 per cent policy applies no matter where employees get their tattoos - as long as they get them.
For instance, Brooke Koropatnick told CBS that she got hers behind the ear.
Another employee, Joseph Tighe, has been working for the company only a month but he's already sporting a large logo tattoo on his left arm.
Rapid Realty has over 60 offices on the East Coast and about 1100 employees.
