AN ex used car dealer is linking his two mansions almost a kilometre apart with a tunnel to create one of the world's largest - and most expensive - homes.
UK mobile phone magnate John Caudwell is planning a 1300sq m underground extension to merge his two Mayfair mansions, the Daily Mail reports.

At 4700sq m his new 'iceberg' mega home will be larger than a football field and only slightly smaller than Westminster Cathedral once finished.
Mr Caudwell, 61, plans to create a personal leisure complex linking his two properties, according to the plans submitted to Westminster Council.

The new underground area would include a games room, swimming pool, sauna, kitchen, salon, media room, plant room and car park.
A lower ground floor would feature bedrooms, staffrooms, security rooms along with two suites and a laundry room.
