BARB DOVE loves throwing dinner parties - but she used to shy away from entertaining in her "tiny" dated kitchen.
Mrs Dove and her husband Bob's faux tudor eastern suburbs house, built in 1989, has been given a makeover by Scott Salisbury Homes.
The builder will be an exhibitor at the Master Builders SA Building & Home Improvement Show at the Adelaide Showground until Sunday.
The Dove's house was gutted and rebuilt and the final result is striking and contemporary.

"I love showing people the before and after photos on my phone ... it's gone from one extreme to the other."
The rebuild included creating two homes in one - the Doves lives upstairs, while downstairs is reserved for guests - and two dream kitchens.

The downstairs one was created by giving the existing kitchen a facelift.
Previously a pokey, traditional style, it now boasts plenty of benchspace, luxury appliances and an eye-catching red glass splashback.
"The kitchen was dated and it was tiny, we didn't have more than two people for dinner at any given time because I couldn't fit more than four plates on the bench," Barb says.
"I love cooking in there and I'm inspired to cook."
The show is open 10am-5pm tomorrow, admission $10 adults, $8 pensioners and children under 15 free when accompanied by an adult
